I clearly distinguish gear I have used from recommendations researched through primary sources. My opinions and recommendation rankings are not influenced by commission rates or sponsor deals.

When you click an Amazon link on this site and buy a qualifying item within Amazon's attribution window, I earn a small percentage of the sale. During that window this can include other qualifying items you add to your cart, not only the specific product you clicked. The percentage varies by product category and is set by Amazon. The way affiliate revenue and sponsorships work, it would be easy to chase the highest commissions or the loudest brand deals. I try not to do that. The point of this site is to be useful enough that you come back, and that only works if my recommendations are honest. If a cheaper option is better, I point at it. If a premium product is overhyped, I say so.
Clicking an affiliate link on this site never costs you more than buying directly. The retailers pay the commission out of their own margins. You pay the same price either way. The affiliate model is what funds the time it takes to test gear and write detailed reviews instead of churning out generic listicles.
