The short version

I do not sell your personal data. I do not share your email with anyone outside the tools I use to run this site. You can unsubscribe from any email I send with one click. The rest of this page explains exactly what gets collected and why.

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to everything you do on olegkovalov.com: visiting pages, reading blog posts, downloading free resources, subscribing to the email list, purchasing digital products, and contacting me through any form on the site.

Email addresses you submit

When you submit your email address through any signup form on this site, I store it in my email marketing tool for the purpose of sending you the resource you requested, related follow-up emails, and a weekly or biweekly newsletter. Specifically:

• I use this email to send you the free download or content you signed up for.
• I may send you related follow-up emails introducing other relevant content.
• You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
• I do not sell, rent, lend, or otherwise share your email address with third parties.
• My email tool stores your email on its servers, which may be located outside your country.

Contact form submissions

When you send a message through the Contact page, the content of that message and your email address arrive in my inbox. I use that information to reply to you. I do not add contact-form submitters to the marketing email list unless you explicitly opt in.

Purchases

If you buy a digital product on the Shop page, the checkout process collects the information needed to complete the transaction: your name, billing address, email, and payment details. Payment information is processed by my payment processor and is never stored on this site. I keep your order history for tax, accounting, and customer-support purposes.

Analytics

I use website analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. The analytics tool collects anonymized data such as your country, browser, device type, the pages you visit, and how you got here. It does not identify you personally. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, I respect it where the analytics tool supports that setting.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for the following purposes:

• Remembering your light or dark theme preference
• Keeping you logged in if you have a customer account on the Shop
• Tracking shopping cart contents during a session
• Analytics (anonymized; described above)
• Affiliate link click tracking (described below)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some site features (such as the cart) will not work without them.

Affiliate link tracking

When you click an affiliate link on this site (Amazon, B and H, or another partner), the destination retailer may set a tracking cookie that lets them credit me with the sale if you buy something. Embedded content from other sites

Articles on this site may embed videos from YouTube, social media posts, or other third-party content. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited that other website. These third parties may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. In particular, YouTube embeds are subject to Google's privacy policy.

WordPress and hosting

This site runs on WordPress hosted on a third-party hosting provider. Standard server logs may be kept by the host, including your IP address, the pages you requested, and the time of your visit. These logs are used for security and abuse prevention. The host's privacy policy applies to those server logs.

How long I keep your data

• Email list subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
• Customer purchase records: as long as required by tax and accounting law in my jurisdiction.
• Contact form submissions: as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, then archived.
• Anonymized analytics data: as long as the analytics provider retains it (typically 14 to 26 months).

Your rights

You can:

• Unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in every email.
• Request a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
• Request that I delete the personal data I hold about you, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Request that I correct any inaccurate personal data.
• Opt out of analytics tracking by enabling Do Not Track in your browser or by using a tracker-blocker.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through this site, contact me and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I make a material change to this Privacy Policy, I will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify subscribers via the email list.
